UK SHIPPING

Each piece of jewellery is made to order especially for you in our small studio in Perthshire, Scotland. Please allow 7-14 days for your item to be made, hallmarked and posted to you. As we often exhibit our work at events across Scotland, we also keep a stock of jewellery that is ready made for you. If you check our relevant product pages it will specify 'kept in stock' and these items are usually posted 1-2 business days after your order. Should you require a last minute gift, we always try our best to help where possible so please get in touch with any requests.

Bespoke jewellery has a longer lead time due to the additional time involved with the consultation, design and making. Our current lead time for bespoke pieces is 4-12 weeks depending on the complexity of the piece. Once again, if you have a shorter timescale please get in touch and we will accommodate you wherever possible.

All jewellery is posted to our customers free of charge. Jewellery that is under the value of £70 will be sent using Royal Mail First Class. Any jewellery over the value of £70 will be sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery. Please ensure you enter the correct address for delivery as no refunds can be issued for items posted to the wrong address.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Any items that require international shipping are posted using Royal Mails 'Tracked and Signed for' delivery service. There is a flat rate for international delivery which includes Europe, Canada, Australia, and the USA. The customer is responsible for researching any possible import duties, taxes or charges prior to making a purchase. Any sales taxes, import duties, or any other custom charges are the sole responsibility of the customer. You may check with your country's customs office for any further information.

Please note that by design, alot of our jewellery is delicate and care should be taken when wearing your piece to prevent damaging your item. This applies to all delicate jewellery, but in particular anything that is under 1.5mm is especially vulnerable to breakage and so is not designed for everyday wear and tear.

If you require any further information regarding our returns policy please do not hesitate to get in touch.

JEWELLERY CARE

All Cairney Jewellery pieces are made to treasure and enjoy. To help your jewellery stay in the best condition, proper care needs to be taken. Lots of our pieces are delicate by design therefore excessive force, snagging on materials and wearing whilst doing strenuous activities can lead to breakages. Small scratches are normal signs of everyday wear on your jewellery. Some of our jewellery is extremely delicate and designed for this aesthetic. This jewellery is not designed for everyday use and care should be taken as it can be easily broken.

We recommend having your jewellery professionally cleaned and maintained on a relatively regular basis. Use of a polishing cloth at home can help to keep your jewellery shining, but make sure to only use a polishing cloth as other cloths and tissues can scratch your piece. We have a specialist polishing cloth available to buy alongside your jewellery should you wish.

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

  • Ideally you should remove all jewellery when bathing or showering as chemicals can react with the metal and stones.

  • You should remove jewellery when doing practical and physical work such as gardening, exercise, housekeeping or maintenance.

  • Jewellery is highly sensitive to substances such as cleaning products, makeups, creams, and perfumes therefore remove jewellery before using any products like these.

  • Jewellery should be stored in an airtight container, away from direct sunlight, and with low humidity. These things help to prevent tarnishing which naturally occurs with your silver jewellery. We recommend leaving your jewellery in the box it came in.
